Embracing A New Reality

Nine signs you are transitioning into a New Reality
& Ten ways you can best embrace it!

Some of you may notice that there is great change in and around you.  If you are one of these people, you may find comfort in knowing you are not alone and that a new reality is being born amongst people around the world right now.

We’ve come to a place where we can no longer move forward in the life we have been living.  Consider the metaphor of a boat.  It has run its course and now we are all being asked to step out and into a faster, sleeker boat, one that offers a new beginning both internally and externally.

For some of us releasing the old boat may seem natural and joyful.  For others it may seem daunting, painful and emotional.  Some people are experiencing complete life makeovers, and others may be just changing one aspect of their life.  What doesn’t differ is that each of us is being called to something greater.

The boat is not big enough for us anymore.  It is not spacious enough to hold who we have become over these many years.  We need a boat that is going to carry us into a new level of co-creation, one that is spacious enough to allow creative possibilities to flow through us.  We are being asked to allow the universe to work through us in a new and more expansive way.  The larger the boat, the more receptive we are and the more we can serve something greater than ourselves.

The joy of accepting this new boat is that there is no work involved.  In fact, we are being asked to relinquish the idea that we have work at it at all.  This wave of energy, the wave of New Energy as I call it, has come into our life.  This wave has come to us because on some level we have asked and prepared for it.  The wave does not need to be sculpted in any way; it does not need to be pushed or forced.  It is flowing to us, through us, and our job is to receive it and accept its offerings.  Our job is to surf as best we can.  Try as we might, we won’t have much luck swimming against it.

How you surf the wave is up to you.  I’m pretty sure we are all going to fall off our boards at least once, and we will definitely wobble a lot.  But know that whether you are surfing poorly or with deftness, you will be carried forward into a new reality.  It’s just that those who surf best will arrive first.

There are many signs that you are being called into this new reality.  Here are a few I have seen in my own life and in the lives of almost everyone in my social circle.  (Bear in mind what you experience, and how intense it may seem, will vary for each person):

1.  Realizing your dream: As you surf this new energy you become aware that you are realizing your dream.  Even if you don’t see it, you can feel it coming into your life.  Or you may see pieces of it coming together, slowly integrating into a larger picture that will unfold in time.  Either way, because of how intense this energy is now, you can no longer deny its presence in carrying you towards something greater.  A sense of joy and anticipation predominate your life.

2.  Body-Mind Expansion:  The new energy is very expansive, and there is a period of adjustment as we integrate it into our field of awareness.  If you feel the new energy, you will certainly feel one or more of the following internal changes:
  • Feeling your heart energy open or expand
  • Feeling your body’s cells fill with aliveness and joy
  • Feeling rushes of  sexual energy or heat
  • Feeling a deep sense of vulnerability or rawness
  • Feeling fear, loss or sadness
  • Having a hard time focusing; feeling light headed, scattered or vertigo
  • Excessive mind chatter
  • Feeling perceptual shifts, almost like you are regularly walking into new worlds or dimensions even though nothing has really changed externally
  • Feeling like time is speeding up, and like everything is intensifying

3.  Nothing to hold on to: No matter how hard you try to hold on, you will eventually let go.  A while ago, during one of my darker moments, I made a bunch of phone calls from a place of panic hoping to find something I could grab onto.  Friends and acquaintances who I can always count on to quickly return my messages, didn’t respond at all.  Others who did contact me ended up playing endless phone tag with me, or booking times to speak only to then rearrange for a future date.  Yet as soon as I released the panic and let go as a whole, we made our connection, at which point I no longer needed their help.  The new energy would not allow me to hang onto the old.

4.  Nothing works anymore in the old regime:  You may try to use your old tools, but they are losing their power.  Leave them on the boat.  You will have less use for them in your new boat or perhaps no use for them at all.  So if you feel frustrated because you can’t make your life work anymore, it’s because it is no longer your life.  Something more wonderful is waiting for you on the other side.

5.  Increasing lack of fulfillment: Your boat is not big enough for you anymore.  You may have a feeling of being squeezed out or unappreciated in your current situation.  It may feel like you are being pushed out, or you may literally feel like there is no room left for you anymore.  It’s time for a new boat, one that is big enough for you to express the person you have become and to feel the joy that comes with that.

6.  Groping in the dark: For some of you you’ve let go of one branch and you can see the other branch in front of you.  You are walking towards it with anticipation.  For others, it’s not so easy.  There is a feeling of walking blindfolded, trying to find your way.  You have a sense based on your intuition to keep going, but it’s scary because there is nothing to hold onto.  You are in-between two worlds and are being asked to move forward courageously even though you feel your sense of security is in question.

7.  Deep emotional swings:  Up and down like the waves of the ocean, you may feel overwhelmed by the turbulence of this transition.  One moment you may feel deep sadness and fear, followed by a sense of O.K. ness, followed by inspiration and excitement, followed by fear again.  We are all adjusting to this new energy that is guiding us now, and while we are in-between two worlds and in this state of flux, it’s natural to oscillate between the fear and uncertainty of letting go and the intuitive connectedness to the life that calls you from ashore.

8.  External shifts:  Imagine a light bulb filling with light.  In this new energy the dimmer switch is turning more quickly every day.  As the light intensifies, we are no longer a vibrational match for certain circumstances in our external reality.  Whether it is a job, relationship, home environment, or location, we are being called to shift out of an old existence and into one that matches our current state of being/vibration.  As the new energy establishes itself within, its concomitant form will manifest into our reality.

9.  Irrational calm:  Many people are not panicking at all at the moment, even though they think they should be.  A year ago they would have been, but today within this new energy there is a feeling of being safe and supported like there has never been before.

So, how can we best surf the wave of new energy?  Below are a few ideas.  Again, depending on how you are experiencing the new energy, some may resonate with you more than others:

1.  Focus on the joy: This is probably the most paramount of suggestions because the essence of this new energy is joy.  We are being called to live more joyful lives.  The best way to align with the new energy is to say Yes to joy now.  Saying Yes to joy releases our attachments to our old life and how we think our new life should be.  Connect to the essence of the new energy, which is joy, and leave the details to the universe.

2.  Being versus Doing:  The more we surf the new energy, the more we realize that what we do isn’t as important.  It no longer defines who we are.  So long as we realize joy - the essence of the new energy - we will find fulfillment in whatever we choose to do.  Being also becomes paramount in how we create our lives.  The boat we are stepping into is faster, sleeker and more efficient.  Less effort, less reliance on doing, is required to run it and move in the directions we want to go.  As we allow the new energy to work for us, through us, our ability to co-create and manifest will result more from being than doing.

3.  Integrate your humanity:  More than ever we are being called to participate in a co-creative experience.  Your part is to bring your humanity into the experience as one half of the co-creative process.  The other half is the universe working for you, and again, though you.  For this to happen, we need to be in our body.  Choose activities that have you be in your body such as knitting, gardening, exercise or savoring a good meal.  Being in your body is saying Yes to the new energy because your body is the receptacle for it.

4.  Release your personal agenda: For me personally this was, and has been, scary because there was a very large part of me that wanted to work at what I thought I “should” be working at – namely my business.  But we are being asked to enter something new, and for some of us this is beyond what our minds can comprehend and thus see at this moment.  Our ego wants to hold onto our private agenda – again, what we think we should be doing; how we think we should be living our lives – because the ego loves the status quo and being in control, and is hopelessly afraid of uncertainty and the unknown.  But the universe has something in store for us that is larger than we can currently see.  We might as well drop our paddles and accept entry into the yacht!

5.  Accept not knowing:  As you leave your boat you are also leaving behind many of your old MOs (modes of operating in life).  Much of How you used to do things in the old energy, like run your business and be in relationship, will not work in the new energy.  Accepting this requires a willingness to let go of what you think you know and open to not knowing.  To the degree that you embrace the new energy, your old How’s will be superseded by new creative possibilities, and your old beliefs - who you thought you were and what you thought your life was about - will be dissolved into the light of truth.

6.  Be courageous: This may be the most challenging period of your life in terms of choosing courage and continuing on despite what your rational mind, and the minds of those around you, may say.  My mind has been freaking out, personally speaking.  It has come up with every possible dark and disturbing outcome that my life has in store if I don’t change something soon!  It reminds me daily, hourly!  This is a time of moving beyond the rational, because we are moving beyond the mind and into the heart of a greater reality that our mind cannot see.

7.  Listen to your intuition: Regarding my personal example of panic earlier on, during all my attempts to do something about my situation, the whole time I knew in my heart they were fruitless.  I didn’t listen to my intuition.  I just steamed ahead.  But my intuition, calm and steady as it was, silently reminded me I didn’t have to do that; it wasn’t necessary.  If your mind is moving a hundred miles an hour it may be hard to hear your intuition.  Spend time meditating, being in nature or surrounding yourself with supportive, objectively/like-minded individuals, anything that will support you to slow down and ground into your inner knowing.

8.  Spend time with like-minded people:  Now is the time to receive support and see that we are all moving into this energy as a community of individuals all wanting the same thing.  We have the opportunity to support one another by validating each other’s experience through the sharing of our own.  Whether we express our fears, our intuitive feelings or our heart’s longing, by communing with one another we offer the gift of helping each other soften into this new energy so that we can be more receptive to the gifts it has to bring.

9.  Allow:  As we surf the wave of new energy we are always aware of balance.  Are we leaning too forward on our board trying to reach for our dream?  Are we leaning to backwards afraid of where we are going?  The art of receiving this new energy and riding the waves is to engage life in an active state of allowing versus a passive state.  Allow the energy to work for you.  Allow it to take care of the details.  And in the meantime, focus on what you can do today that would bring you joy.

10.  Be patient: This may be the toughest one.  How do we be patient when there are bills to pay, our fulfillment is staggering or we have no vision?   Patience can come if we truly feel this new energy in our body, the feeling of being safe and supported despite what may appear to be.  Patience can come if we truly trust and embrace the emptiness and uncertainty of our lives not as an end, but rather an opening to receive something new.  And patience can come if we know that we didn’t come all this way to fall backwards.  Life does not evolve backwards.  Like the tree that has released its leaves to the earth, life always brings new life, and sometimes all that is left for us to be is patient.

As you may have noticed, many souls are leaving our earth right now.  They have completed a cycle and are ready for rebirth.  Whether we are releasing our body, a job or a relationship, we are all in the midst of a rebirth.  And although it may appear that only one area of our life is renewing itself, the new energy is an integrative process that affects our whole life.  The real agenda is the awakening of our heart which then flows into everything we do and have.  Any external changes we are experiencing are natural and inevitable manifestations of who we have become.

Much love to you all as you release your cocoon and answer the call of the butterfly.
A New Energy is guiding us all into a New Reality.
Almost everyone I know is making the leap right now.
